Making a living through drawing and painting is enriching, enjoyable, and deeply rewarding. I’ve worked as a freelance artist, illustrator, and tutor for over 15 years, and I love every stage of the creative process—from developing new ideas and characters to bringing each piece to life.

Growing up on my family’s farm in Derbyshire, I spent many happy hours exploring the land and barns, observing and sketching the animals and wildlife of the surrounding countryside.

Now based in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, I continue to draw inspiration from the natural world on my own farm, where I keep rare-breed goats and donkeys, horses, pigs, and chickens. We are privileged to see hares in our paddocks, along with deer and owls which are a continuing source of inspiration.

Artwork Mediums

Pastel, Oil, Watercolour, and Graphite

Showcasing

My work has been exhibited in galleries and annual shows across the UK. Most recently, I was selected as a finalist for the 2026 David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.

Digital Illustration

I begin by researching and sketching each design before developing it digitally on my iPad. The finished artworks are professionally printed on high-quality paper as greeting cards, mounted prints, and posters for schools and home décor. I also offer digital downloads and personalised prints.

Commissioned Artwork

I offer bespoke commissions and have created many paintings and illustrations of pets, wildlife over the years.

Children’s Books

I have written and illustrated two children’s books, Duncan Counts to Ten and A-to-Z  Learn the Alphabet with Beatrice Bee, both of which are available on my website. I am currently working on a new book, Duncan on the Farm.

Workshops

A rewarding part of my career is running regular illustration and wildlife art workshops at my studio in the Cotswolds, welcoming everyone from beginners onward.
