I'm an artist and illustrator living and creating in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside.
Growing up on the family farm in Derbyshire, I spent many happy hours roaming around the land and barns chatting with the cows, sheep and chickens always with a sketchbook in my hand.
Today my connection with the natural world continues on my own farm breeding rare breed goats and keeping donkeys, horses, pigs and chickens, all a wonderful forever source of inspiration.
Drawing and painting for a living is life enhancing, fun and fulfilling. I've been a freelance artist, illustrator and tutor for over 15 years and totally love the process of creating artwork and illustration, researching and realising new characters and situations and bringing everything to life!
My Artistic Skill Set
Pastel, Oil, Watercolour and Mixed Media Paintings
I enjoy creating paintings and drawings in various mediums mainly animal orientated but have also taken commissions for portraits of family members and friends.
I have been selected to exhibit at various galleries and exhibitions throughout the UK but my proudest moment was being selected for exhibiting at the Mall Galleries in London as part of David Shepherd's Wildlife Artist of the Year with two Guinea Fowl paintings.
Digital Illustrations
I research, sketch out, transfer to iPad and digitally create paintings which I then have professionally printed on high quality papers as greetings cards and mounted prints and posters for schools and home decor. My digital paintings are available as digital downloads and also produce personalised prints.
Commissions
I offer bespoke commissions and have enjoyed painting and illustrating many pets, wildlife and people over the years!
Children's Books
I've written and illustrated two children's books, 'Duncan Counts to Ten' and an A to Z book - 'Learn the Alphabet with Beatrice Bee' which are both available on my website. I'm currently working on a new book entitled 'Duncan On The Farm'.
Workshops
I hold regular illustration and wildlife art workshops at my studio in the Cotswolds where everyone is welcome from beginners to advanced.
